A Sony Ericsson patent reveals how the company intends to use projectors inside cellphones. According to the patent, when the projector beams the desired image on to a surface, the onboard camera will take an image of the projected image to analyse if any adjustments are to be made. If required, the projector application will change the intensity of the projector to project the ideal image. Pretty cool!

However we don't know what will be the time frame before we can actually see such technology in a commercial product.
