A while ago, the guys over at PointUI had released the beta version of their new home-2 software. Now the pro version is available although there's no trial. However it lacks the ability to use the keyboard to search through your contacts which might act as a big deterrant for some.
SPB shell 3.0, which came out last week, is pretty good. It’s impossible to compare it to the free panel version which comes with the Xperia as it does so much more, including, incorporating a similar 2.0like interface which it refers to as the “professional” desktop.
