We've known the answer to this question for some time now....but this just clarifies it.
I mailed UIQ, requesting them to answer a couple of my questions, and here's what I got.
Q1) With the announcement of the symbian foundation, what is the future of UIQ? I know UIQ is also a part of 'SF', however I've heard the code for future handsets will be based on S60, so my question is where does UIQ fit in?
Q2) Will there be any future versions of UIQ? The new UIQ version was going to be announced...I have seen some images of how it would have looked like, so my question is will we see a new UIQ version before the onset of the symbian foundation's UI?
Here's what UIQ replied:
1) UIQ Technology currently works with developing and creating software for future phones. Forming the future of the company is however under process. Your question about S60 and UIQ must be directed to the Symbian Foundation.
2) The development is ongoing as in previous question, but as UIQ is not going to be an own product in the future, the current likeliness of officially announcing new versions is rather small.
