Xperia X10 to set you back by $879?

Sony Ericsson hopes that its upcoming Xperia X10, its flagship device for 2010,based on Google's Android operating system, will help the company return to profit after several loss-making quarters.

The new high-end smartphone, which will cost around 6,000 Swedish kronor ($879) in stores, will be available in the first quarter 2010 in a number of markets, press spokesman Gustaf Brusewitz told Dow Jones Newswires.

This is the one and only handset you should get if you have a PlayStation 3 at home. On its own, the xperia is a very capable multimedia feature phone. Who knows, you may be tempted to fork out money for a PS3 after that.

The x10 is sony ericsson's first Android device. If you're looking for a device to hook it up with your PS3m i'd advise you to look at the Aino.
